Farmers throughout Northeast Wisconsin are preparing their farms for the future. Thanks to the Farm Rewiring program from WPS, there's extra incentive to bring your farm's electrical system up to code. It's how WPS is helping families ensure a bright and prosperous future for your farming operation.
Endorsed by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), the Farm Rewiring program addresses three crucial objectives:
- Farm safety
- Stray voltage reduction
- Energy efficiency
There's also a generous financial package involved. The deal is simple. On dairy farms WPS pays the first $1,000, then splits up to $18,000 50/50 with you. That means we're in for as much as $10,000. On livestock farms WPS pays the first $1,000, then splits up to $8,000 50/50 with you. That means we're in for as much as $5,000.
If you're a WPS farm electric customer, you're eligible to apply for the Farm Rewiring program. Customers who have already participated in the Farm Rewiring program are allowed to participate again after a five-year period, as long as their initial farm-rewiring loan has been paid in full.
