- What is an interval meter and will I need one?
- An interval meter is used to record how much energy is being used at any
given time. This is measured in kilowatts (kW), usually in 15-minute or 30-minute
increments. Larger business customers may find it helpful to install interval meters
to help make energy-buying decisions. There is a charge to install
interval metering equipment.

- What is "load profiling?"
- A load profile is a graphic depiction of average energy use for a specific type of
customer. If you do not have an interval meter, your energy supplier will use a load
profile to estimate your energy use. The load profile uses weather, time-of-day and
day-of-week factors to calculate average energy use.
